A Michigan mother has lost essential guardianship of her youngster after she was imprisoned for five days for not completing on consent to immunize her 9-year-old child.
Oakland County Judge Karen McDonald decided Wednesday that Rebecca Bredow, 40, of Ferndale would never again have the essential care of the kid, however, would impart joint guardianship to her ex, James Horne.
Horne needed his child immunized, and Bredow consented to do as such last November yet didn’t finish. The mother said inoculations conflict with her religious convictions.
Bredow was found in scorn of court a week ago and sent to imprison for five days. The judge likewise conceded transitory care to Horne and requested the kid to be immunized. He got four vaccinations on Monday.
Bredow’s lawyer said she was “crushed” when she discovered her child was inoculated.
“It was the most noticeably bad five days of my life, aside from the way that I simply discovered that he was inoculated and I’m not going to get him back today,” Bredow told the Detroit Free Press. “It’s been an unpleasant couple of days no doubt.”
Bredow told correspondents Wednesday she was “in stun” by the court’s choice. Her lawyer intends to advance.
