ISLAMABAD/KARACHI: Social media websites including Facebook, Twitter and YouTube went down following the clashes between protesters of a religious party and security forces across Pakistan.
The social media websites are inaccessible to internet users after security forces cracked down on protesters at Faizabad Interchange and other parts of Karachi.
The websites are not working on the desktop but their smartphone application is working on mobile phones.
It is pertinent to mention that Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has also shut down transmission of news channels following the clashes.
At least 135 people, including protesters and security personnel, have been injured in clashes at Faizabad Interchange which connects Islamabad to Rawalpindi.
